Who is Berehynia?
In the center of Kyiv, a statue of Berehynia stands as a protectress to the Ukrainian nation. Is it possible this Goddess provides energetic safety for the people of the Ukraine during this time of war? April explains that she was created by the people of the Ukraine to represent a beautiful and independent hearth goddess. As the Ukrainian people established themselves as an autonomous country, they also created new ways to express their independence. A statue of Berehynia was commissioned in the 1990’s as part of this Neo-paganism movement.
